Prepurchase Exams

Following a request by a potential buyer of a horse, a thorough clinical exam is performed to determine any pre-existing disorder or any potential problem that may affect future soundness. Ancillary diagnostic procedures can be performed and include blood analyses, endoscopy of the upper airway tract, radiographs (particularly feet, hock and stifle joints) and ultrasound. Results are kept confidential and a summary report is provided to the buyer.

Radiography

Using the latest Sound-Eklin® portable wireless digital radiography system, quality images are acquired which can be reviewed immediately using the remote notebook

Regenerative Medicine

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP): Following collection of venous blood from the horse, centrifugation of the blood samples results in a super concentration of blood platelets and growth factors. Using sterile technique, the platelet rich plasma (PRP) is injected into the site of injury using ultrasound thereby promoting superior healing and recovery following joint or tendon-related disorders.

Reproduction

At risk pregnancies are monitored through repeated ultrasound exams, serial hematology and serum biochemistry analyses, until the birth of the foal.

Soft Tissue Surgery

Minimally invasive surgery, tumour removal, lacerations, wound care and tissue reconstruction.

Ultrasound

Using the latest GE LOGIQ e high performance, multipurpose colour compact imaging system, designed for abdominal, cardiac, musculoskeletal (muscle / bone / tendon), neonate (foals), thorax and various small part applications, basic ultrasound exams to more advanced imaging can be easily performed.
